As spring started to bloom over Ole Miss, I had the privilege of documenting the academic journeys of several Seniors at the university's most iconic locations. Here are some of the gorgeous images we were able to capture!
These sessions were beyond amazing, and I'm so proud of each and every graduate! They've worked so hard to get to where they are, and they were so ready to celebrate their achievements. I spent time with each one of them, figuring out which areas of the university would best represent their journeys.
For some, the Lyceum was a must, with its stately columns and elegant exterior. Others opted for the Walk of Champions, where we highlighted statements like the archway and the brick walkway. Other girls were a part of sororities or other campus activities, so we made sure to highlight those as well!
I love that so many of the girls brought their friends, family, and pets! Having candid moments like these are priceless on camera. I mean, just look at those sweet smiles!
Of course, we couldn't forget our classy portraits. These ladies were so stunning that every photo was a winner! Some of them got their makeup done by The Studio in Oxford, Mississippi, and I highly recommend that. Some people might not know that makeup shows differently on camera than it does in real life, so having a professional who knows all the tips and tricks will really help you look your best.
One thing we didn't have a ton of control over was the wind. On the one hand, wind is great for adding a little bit of movement to skirts and hair, but a lot of times wind requires a lot of patience to get that perfect shot. We mitigated the wind by photographing by buildings or trees, which blocked the more disturbing gusts. The girls did great!
Having a photoshoot in a public area also means that we might run into other groups of people from time to time. Some were just normal pedestrians going through their every-day life, but we saw our fair share of other seniors getting their photos done, too! When this happens, I get my creative juices flowing for unique settings, but we also waited for our turn for a few minutes for those must-have shots.
The good news is that my editing process guarantees that you won't have to worry about imperfections. Whether it's a stray hair or a photo-bomber, I can make each of our winning shots graduation-ready.
One of the real joys of this session was getting to know each graduate. Only one was a Mississippi native, and the rest were from out of state. As we swapped laughs, stories, and dreams, their optimism and hope for the future was so infectious!
Huge congratulations, girls, on all of your achievements! It was so wonderful to meet each and every one of you, and I wish you the best as you turn the page and begin a new chapter!
