On a beautiful September day, I packed up my camera bag and headed out to Rowan Oak and Oxford Square in Oxford, MS. Katianne and Zack were so excited for their engagement session, and so was I! I loved making memories with this amazing couple, and we created a stunning gallery that they can use for their wedding invitations and home decor as they prepare for their big day.
Katianne and Zack grew up in the same school and became friends through snap chat, but things didn't start heading in the romantic direction until Katianne was 16 years old. She got a flat tire in town, and Zack was the one to come to fix it. As her hero, they remained steady all through high school.
During college, their ship rocked a little bit and they broke up for a short period of time, but not even Zack's Mamaw thought that would last because she never took down Katianne's graduation invitation that she had framed in her house. Sure enough, they got back together and have been inseparable ever since.
"We also got voted "Campus Cuties" during Zack's senior year." ~ Katianne
I definitely believe it! These two were so cute during our engagement session. I could tell that their love ran deeply for each other, and they're going to be an amazing married couple!
Zack proposed to Katianne in the front yard of the house he got for her, and she said yes!
"I had no idea it was coming! I picked on him for being slow to do things, but I was genuinely irritated at him on the ride there (before he proposed) because we looked at rings 6 months before and nothing had happened yet.... whoops." ~Katianne
Zack and Katianne both love spending time together, but right now, their number one activity is fixing up their house. It sounds like quite the project, but I have no doubt it will make their relationship even stronger.
"So far, it hasn't been bad at all. Just A LOT of work." ~Katianne
During my initial calls with Katianne about the engagement session, she wanted to make sure that we created some natural and elegant photos that show off their fun side as a couple! I came prepared with all of my favorite poses and prompts, and we made some magic at Rowan Oak and Oxford Square!
These locations were so special to Zack because according to Katianne, he's obsessed with Ole Miss. She just loved the gorgeous vibe of the location, and I've got to agree with her there! I'll never get tired of the historical architecture.
In the end, these two were head-over-heels in love with their gallery! They are planning to use these photos for their "Save the Date" cards, as well as for a display at the reception, social media, and their wedding website. I'm so glad they had a great time!
