Capturing the love and joy between Erick and Lauren during their engagement session at The Jefferson in Oxford, MS, was nothing short of magical. From the very first click of the camera, it was evident that these two share something incredibly special. Erick, who admits he doesn’t normally enjoy taking photos, found the session to be effortless and fun.

Erick and Lauren’s love story is one that speaks to God’s perfect timing. Their deep faith and strong foundation in their relationship were evident throughout our session, making every captured moment all the more meaningful.
“We met in August of 2022 at MRA YoungLife where we were both volunteering as leaders. By January of 2023, we were spending more time together outside of YoungLife and began dating later that month! After spending time with each other's families and friends, we knew our relationship was one that God had ordained and planned on our behalf. :)” ~ Erick
Oxford, MS, has become a special place for the two of them.
“Being an LSU fan Oxford was never a place Lauren imagined she could come to love or enjoy as much as she has. For me, Oxford has always been a place where my friends, family and I have spent lots of time going to games, movies, and making many memorable moments together. So after a few trips up there with myself and my family, it became another home away from home for us both where we have enjoyed many fun dates (especially during Christmas with the lights on the square).” ~ Erick
The Jefferson, with its charming Southern charm, was the perfect location to reflect the deep love they have built together in this city.
Their engagement took place on a beautiful fall day at The Jefferson, which made it even more meaningful to return there for their engagement session.
“On November 30, 2024, at The Jefferson in Oxford, MS, after a few stressful weeks of planning, everything finally came together. The crisp fall air and the beautiful surroundings set the stage for an unforgettable moment. With a backdrop of a beautiful lake with ducks flying overhead and a carefully planned surprise, Lauren said ‘YES!’ to becoming Mack’s full-time mom and my wife! Her smile lit up the entire evening, and the joy on her face made all the effort worthwhile. It was truly the perfect day—one filled with laughter, happy tears, and the overwhelming feeling that this was exactly where God wanted us to be.” ~ Erick
Erick and Lauren’s journey together has been filled with both joyful moments and challenges. Their resilience as a couple was tested when, just a week after their parents met, Erick’s father unexpectedly passed away.
“The following week after our parents met Erick’s dad passed away due to a heart attack. It was a very emotional and tough weekend for us both with Lauren being in a tough week of exams and myself preparing for an important championship football game. However, through this we realized that being by each other's side made us much stronger than if we were to have to face a similar situation alone and that set the tone for our future in knowing that we would be there for each other through the highs and lows of life.” ~Erick
Their unwavering support for each other was evident during our session, and it’s clear they are prepared to take on life’s journey as a team.
As they prepare for their wedding day on December 20, 2025, in Jackson, MS, Erick and Lauren are soaking in every moment of this exciting season. They love spending time together watching movies, attending Fondren Church, and visiting family.
“This January 29th, we will celebrate two years together! We cherish spending quality time enjoying our favorite movies and shows, attending Fondren Church, studying for PT school, and playing with Mack. We also make it a priority to visit our families as often as possible, creating meaningful memories and enjoying games together during our downtime.” ~ Erick
From their first meeting at YoungLife to the beautiful engagement at The Jefferson, every moment has made their love story even more beautiful. Their engagement session was a reflection of that journey—classic, heartfelt, and filled with joy.
