Chris & Lindsey's wedding was an event that brimmed with love, laughter, and family. We went to several places around Oxford MS in order to capture the magic of their day, and it was such a privilege to document their memories. Every moment, from the early morning preparations to the reception was filled with celebration as these two tied the knot. Congratulations!
This couple was absolutely fantastic. I can't say enough good things about them! They were so happy all day long just being together, which was so beautiful to see. The day was also gorgeous, which meant that it was a breeze to create some stunning images!
We captured so many special moments on this day, but I didn't forget the small details! In addition to snapping multiple detail shots along the way, I created several flat lays with Lindsey's shoes, their invitations, and jewelry. They turned out so pretty!
"There is a funny story between the two of us regarding his great-grandfather's ring because he calls it his "pinky" ring since that is the only finger it will fit and he randomly found it one day. He packed it for wedding weekend without my knowledge and snuck it in to his ring box and the ring ended up being front and center of all of our detail pictures! I had no idea until Anna Payton sent our sneaks the next day. I have never wanted to cry so bad while simultaneously laughing so hard." - Lindsey
On the big day, the couple got ready at separate Air BnBs, surrounded with their bridesmaids and groomsmen. At the ladies', Katie Toliver had her hands full with hair, and Maddie Collins made sure that Lindsey's makeup was on point.
"Spending the morning with some of my closest friends who have been through every stage of life with me and seeing them enjoy the day just as much as I did!" - Lindsey
At the gentlemen's, Chris buttoned up his sharp suit with the help of his mom. These two were just the sweetest! The bride and groom hadn't even seen each other at this point, but they were already beaming from ear to ear.
"I had known him for a while. He actually graduated high school with my sister! Ultimately his sister, who I was friends with, pushed him to message me. I had just moved out on my own and purchased a Condo in Oxford a month before Chris messaged me. One night after work, I met and had dinner with a friend and was joking to her about how I was waiting on him to message me because his sister said he was going to. I am still convinced someone overheard me, because by the time I made it from Senatobia to Batesville, I had a message from Chris. We talked for a while and he eventually asked if I wanted to go to dinner that weekend. To his surprise, I told him no. I made him sweat for a few seconds and then confirmed I couldn't because I would be out of town. We had our first date two weeks later at the Ravine in Oxford and have been inseparable ever since." - Lindsey
"My sister and her husband's family had been trying to get us together for a while. One day I decided to message her and see if she wanted to go out on a date. She said she wanted to but she "had to go out of town". Defeated, I gave it another shot, and we pushed out date to the next weekend. This was great because it gave us a chance to text more and get to know each other better. We went to Ravine, and I definitely overspent for a first date! Now she expects it regularly!" - Chris
These two were so torn about whether or not to do a first look until the very last minute. Ultimately, they decided to go for it because of the timing of the ceremony, and they wanted the moment to be as intimate as possible. They had a full 30-person entourage, so it was definitely less stressful to get the wedding portraits before the wedding.
"We still made it special and only had my parents, his girls and my sister there with us. The time before the wedding where it was just us and his two girls ended up being some of the best memories." - Lindsey
Since the wedding was about to happen at the Paris Yates Chapel at the University of Mississippi, we chose to have the first look and wedding party photos at the Brandt Memory House on the Ole Miss campus. Chris and Lindsey's first look included sweet letters that made the moment even more special.
On of our best memories together was not long after Chris and I started dating. We found out that the Rebs were going to NOLA to play in The Sugar Bowl for a New Years bowl game. With it being pretty close to home and our love for the Rebs, we decided to book the trip and went with my sister and brother-in-law. As you can imagine, the game tickets and stay expenses were not cheap, so we decided to share one hotel room with them and split the cost.
The week leading up to the trip, I did not feel the best. I chalked it up to being sinuses, went and got some medicine and a shot and started feeling better before the weekend. Chris however was in the trenches of his sickness starting a few days before, but he sucked it up because we had paid for this trip, and we wanted to go to the game!
We got there on that Friday, went to dinner, went out to a few bars and came back to the room to get ready for a full day of cheering on the Rebs on Saturday. The worst part is, the only person who got sleep, was Chris! The rest of us were up ALL NIGHT because of his snoring. A freight train doesn't even begin to explain the type of noises that were coming out of this man's mouth. No amount of waking him up and rolling him over would make it stop. Finally, at 7 AM he woke up and decided he would be "nice" and go eat breakfast by himself and stayed gone until close to 10 AM so the rest of us could sleep a few hours! Thankfully he does not do this every night!!
Little did we know, we both had COVID. Seriously, my sister and brother-in-law, all of our friends we were around, all came back with COVID and Chris and I were fine. To this day, they do not let us forget it!
Overall, we had a good trip, and eventually, after the rest of us got some good sleep, laughed about it and we still crack jokes about it between the four of us!" - Lindsey
"Is it too corny to say we are best friends? He makes all of the bad days better. Knowing I get to come home to him every day is a feeling I will never get over. It is never a competition between the two of us, we really do work as a team, and we run our household the same. And he cooks dinner 85% of the time, big plus!" - Lindsey
"The best part about our relationship is the stability. Knowing that no matter what, I have her to fall back on is irreplaceable."

I have to say that I LOVE the classic color palette of this wedding. The bridesmaids wore matching eucalyptus green, which perfectly complemented the white rose bouquets by Nature DeZigns.
Finally, it was time for the ceremony. Lindsey said that when she first stepped out and saw 200 people staring at her, she wanted to crawl into a hole. But Chris waited for her at the end of the aisle, and when their eyes met, all became calm. She looked so gorgeous that Chris found it hard to hold back his emotions. Since they are both Ole Miss alumni, it meant so much to them to have the wedding here at the Paris Yates Chapel. It created such a perfect moment!
"Hire a coordinator and form a good relationship with them! Get to know them and let them get to know you and your personality. Even if it is just for the day of to make sure everything is flowing smoothly so you do not have to worry about it. Everything I thought of the day of, I text my coordinator and she already had the situation complete. I eventually stopped messaging her so I could enjoy the day because I had full confidence she had it handled.
Also, excessive gifts for everyone is unnecessary. I fell in to the trap of buying something for the day off and outside of the bridal party most of everyone else got their gifts days after. With everything else you will be thinking of and enjoying that day, making sure everyone gets their gift will more than likely be at the bottom of the list. Find a way to celebrate and thank them all together to show your appreciation." - Lindsey
The reception was held at The Powerhouse in Oxford. With those purple doors and the brick walls, the couple didn't need to do too much to dress up the space. This stunning cake was made by Wendy Lester from The Sugar Shack, and Taylor Grocery catered the scrumptious hors d'oeuvres.
"Take time to actually eat the food and cake that you pay for. It is always delicious and many times the couple doesn't get to eat for whatever reason. It's definitely needed and is a good time to enjoy the first initial moments of being married." -Lindsey
For their first dance, Chris and Lindsey waltzed to "Weight of Your World" by Chris Stapleton in front of their name in lights. The wedding guests were thrilled to celebrate this couple with light sticks and their best moves! DJ Sedrick Robinson kept the party popping, and everyone had such a wonderful time.
"These will be the best and most stressful months of your life. I am a severe "type A" personality and had everything in order, in a binder and on an excel sheet, from start to finish with what I wanted, but ultimately things still went wrong the day of. Go with the flow as much as you can and try to remember you will still have the same outcome at the end of the day." -Lindsey
All in all, this was a day to remember. Thank you, Lindsey and Chris, for trusting me to document your special day. It was truly an honor, and I wish you both a lifetime of happiness and love.
