Today, I want to introduce you all to one of my best friends: Mary Margaret. I've always loved her work in Family and Motherhood Photography, so it was a huge honor to book her for a branding session! We took these photos at the Ole Mis Campus, The Square, and at Rowan Oak in Oxford, MS.
It's hard to believe that we've known each other for five years now (crazy how time flies!) These days, she lives in a little town called Chapel Hill and serves families in the Nashville, TN area. Even though we don't live in the same area, we're best friends.
I asked her what her favorite type of shoot was, and she said that hands down, families with multiple children. She has two older brothers and is the youngest of thirteen cousins, so she feels right at home with them!
"Growing up in a large family, I love interacting with families that have multiple children. The ability to have various dynamics and combinations of people make the shoot so much more fun. And, if you have a child who is more shy or not feeling it that day, the other family members or siblings usually help relax the child and I can use other people or games to help them giggle and have fun." ~ Mary Margaret
Mary Margaret offers some of the best family photographer experiences in Tennessee, and it's easy to see why. She stands out in so many ways, but I love her heart for people and her willingness to go the extra mile with her clients. Here's a peek into what her clients experience:
"Before booking with me, I like to meet my clients over video call to get to know them and ensure we are on the same page for expectations. We usually discuss location options too. Once booked, I send over a client questionnaire to nail down details like who is coming to the shoot, what do they like to do for fun, any worries they may have, etc." ~ Mary Margaret
" I also send over a detailed client experience guide, which is my version of a style guide. This guide is full of information on what I look for in a location, recommended outfits, links to style guides and recommended stores, notes about props, and more! Additionally, throughout our time together I send various emails to my clients to help them know I am still thinking of them and am getting ready for our shoot. The week before, I send a detailed email with reminders and driving instructions, as well as several emails after the shoot to get them excited for their photos! " ~ Mary Margaret
"It can be tempting to select a photographer solely based on price, I've certainly been guilty of it before. But, this is not always the best thing. When choosing a photographer, consider their editing style, client experience, how they handle tough situations (a child not feeling it or grumpy husband). and what their process is. Don't be afraid to ask the questions because this is an investment for your family! Usually, the higher priced photographers have a more developed process, which means less time thinking or stressing for you!" ~ Mary Margaret
One of the best and biggest changes of her life is that she recently got married! She and her husband are totally made for each other. Since they're both "quality time" people, they make it a priority to spend time with family, friends, and with each other. Whenever I chat with her, she's always going out and doing something fun with people she loves, eating good food, and traveling. So cool!
